From medical attention to shopping opportunities, you can find virtually anything you need while in the Cedar Rapids MedQuarter – and that includes support.
If you need advice or support from others facing similar challenges – like cancer or diabetes – you can find it in the Cedar Rapids MedQuarter.
“Us Too” Support Group
A support group for men with prostate cancer and their support persons. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Contact Hall-Perrine Cancer Center at 319-365-4673.
Adult Diabetes Support Group
Held the second Tuesday of each month at Mercy’s Joslin Diabetes Center at 5264 Council Street NE, this group meets from 7-8 p.m. Contact the Joslin Diabetes Center at 319-398-6012.
Breastfeeding Group
A breastfeeding group for mom, baby and support persons at Mercy Medical Center’s Birthplace classroom. Sessions are held 10:30 a.m.-noon on Wednesdays. Call 319-363-BABY (2229) or email Birthplace@MercyCare.org for more information.
Cancer Support Group
A support group for cancer patients, their caregivers, family members or anyone who has been touched by cancer. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
