Our newly established Diabetes and Kidney Center is committed to helping you and your loved one to successfully manage their condition. Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure in the United States and Canada. Twenty to 40 percent of people with diabetes develop kidney disease, but with proper treatment and screening most can avoid developing kidney failure.

KIDNEY CARE

Nephrology is the care of the kidneys, including the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of kidney disease. We offer specialty treatment and services in the areas of blood pressure management, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, renal disease and dialysis.

We partner with DaVita to provide dialysis services. ENDOCRINOLOGY

Endocrinologists help regulate hormones when levels are too low or high or if your body isn’t responding properly to your hormones. Diabetes is the most common endocrine disease.
Other areas our specialists cover include bone/osteoporosis, growth, hypertension, lipid (cholesterol) disorders, obesity, pituitary gland, thyroid, reproduction and cancer of the endocrine glands.

Medical Weight Loss Clinic

Dr. Rao evaluates and treats individuals struggling with weight-related issues and provides medically-supervised options for safe and effective weight loss with an emphasis on lifestyle changes, not dieting.

DIABETES EDUCATION

We utilize a team-based approach to diabetes management. Our certified diabetes educators, nurses and dietitians work with each individual’s doctor to facilitate the common goal of successful diabetes management. Our team of health professionals offers information, instruction and support through educational programs and counseling sessions. Our team of dietitians, therapists, fitness specialists and health educators work together with Dr. Rao to help individuals make lifestyle changes, such as healthy eating habits, increased physical activity and weight loss.
